1. How do I open the safe for the first time? Since there are no batteries inside yet, you must use the Emergency Key. Remove the small plastic cover on the front panel, insert the key, turn it, and rotate the handle to open. Never keep these keys inside the safe.

2. Can it fit a standard A4 file folder? Yes. With an internal width of 336mm and a height of 408mm, it can comfortably fit A4 and F4 (Folio) documents flat or stacked vertically.

3. What happens if the internal batteries die? You have two backup options: use the Emergency Key for manual access, or plug the included External Battery Box into the jack on the keypad to provide temporary power for your code.

4. How many fingerprints can it store? The ET587 is a Digital PIN safe, not a biometric one. If you require fingerprint access, we recommend the DELI ET630 or ET597 series.

5. Is the safe waterproof? The ET587 is primarily a fireproof and anti-theft safe. While its tight seal provides some resistance to moisture and dust, it is not rated as a fully submersible waterproof safe.

6. How do I change the password? Open the safe door and look for the red or green reset button on the inside back of the door. Press it, enter your new 3–8 digit code on the keypad, and press “#” or “*” to confirm.

7. Why is the safe so heavy (26.5kg)? The weight comes from the fire-insulation layers and the heavy-duty 14.5mm steel door. This weight also makes it much harder for a thief to carry away quickly.
